Nick is one of the composers who has been commissioned by the Philharmonic Society of Selangor (the Phil), a community choir in Malaysia, to compose original songs. This has led to the performance of a medley from the children's show Athena Emu at the Olympics, featured in the Phil's Music from Movies & Musicals 5 concert in 2014. 

In 2018, Nick was commissioned to compose Music & Laughter, the theme song for the Phil's 60th anniversary celebration (image), which was performed by the choir in August of that year, conducted by Dr Jonathon Welch AM. [See also this 2020 Virtual Choir performance.]

Nick's composition Betapa Cerah Duniaku (How Bright is My World) was also a commissioned piece for the AMIS International Girls Choral Festival in 2012 (see video below).
